Consultations

At the Waterford Plastic Surgery Center, consultations are complimentary. Once a consultation is made, a one hour slot is booked just for you. Because of this, we will call to confirm your consultation a day or two before. If you are unable to make a consultation, we ask that you please call to let us know as soon as possible. We understand this happens on occasion and we can reschedule you or another patient much more effectively if given the opportunity.

Surgery scheduling

Everything will be covered the day of your consultation to prepare you for surgery. After this, you may schedule your procedure at any time that is convenient for you. A scheduling fee is necessary to schedule surgery and it is applied to your surgical fee. Payment for surgery is required in full a week before your scheduled procedure. If you need to delay or cancel surgery for any reason, we ask that you call and speak with a staff member at least one week before your scheduled surgery.

Before surgery

Do not eat or drink within eight hours of your surgery unless otherwise instructed by Dr. Jones. You may take routine medications with a sip of water the morning of surgery. As you know, smoking is very unhealthy and can pose additional risks to your surgery. These risks include delayed wound healing, decreased blood flow, increased risk of infection, and other notable problems. As a result, it is extremely important to cease all nicotine products as soon as possible before and also after your procedure. Please alert Dr. Jones if you are unable to do so. You also want to avoid aspirin, vitamin E, or any other blood thinners for at least 10 days before surgery. Herbal medications should be avoided for 2 weeks before surgery and ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatories for 5 days before surgery. If you have any questions about any medications, please call our office. A full list of medications to avoid is located at the following website : www.permanente.net/homepage/kaiser/pdf/55311.pdf

Day of Surgery

Please have a responsible adult available to drive you home and care for you the day and night of surgery. If you live greater than 30 minutes from the office, you will need to arrange to stay somewhere within 30 minutes the night after surgery. We have arranged for reduced rates with many local hotels to help assist with this.

After Surgery

Visits after surgery are included in the cost of the procedure and scheduled as needed to closely follow and assist your progress.
