BREAST AUGMENTATION SURGERY
NOTE: ABSOLUTELY NO SMOKING
MEDICATIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN WITH FOOD
IMMEDIATELY AFTER SURGERY AND FOR THE FIRST 48 HOURS
Resist vomiting if possible, even if nauseated – medication for nausea can be prescribed as needed.
Regular diet. No alcoholic beverages.
Get up to go to the bathroom. Rest and relax otherwise. You should walk with assistance no less than once the first night. Try to flex and extend your feet when resting to help prevent blood clots.
Take medications as written.
You need someone to be with you at least the first night and you need to be within 30 minutes of the office.
Do not place hot or cold objects on your breasts as they may be numb.
Do not take any blood thinners (unless otherwise instructed).
CALL US IF:
- Noticeable breast swelling occurs, especially if one breast becomes noticeably larger than the other. It will also commonly be tighter and more painful.
- Large amount of blood on the bra.
- Temperature over 100 degrees Farenheit.
- Shortness of breath
- Excessive pain
- Other concerns
AFTER 24-48 HOURS
- Your bandages will be changed.
- Continue to wear bra night and day.
- You may be able to shower, if cleared by Dr. Jones.
- You may drive when not taking narcotic, or sedating medications.
- No strenuous activity for 6 wks unless otherwise instructed.
- You may begin taking anti-inflammatory medications such as Motrin if cleared by Dr. Jones and you have no medical contraindications such as stomach ulcers.
